What is IVF?

IVF, a short for In Vitro Fertilization, is a fertility treatment, that assist couples having a baby.

The process of IVF

In The process of IVF the woman is given special drugs to suppress the monthly cycle. This is done by injections usually, for a period of up to two weeks. A fertility hormone is given for two weeks 12 in order to motivate the women's body to produce extra eggs.

These Eggs are collected by a fertility doctor, who is using a needle inserted into the women's body. The eggs then are unified with the man’s sperm. This is done in a fertility laboratory.

The fertilized eggs, that became embryos, are transferred back into the women's womb.
